  • Tools

You just have to Register at their site and put the authorization code that they will give. if you will be having some problems just comment and we will try to resolve it here.

Getting Google’s view of your site, and diagnosing potential problems
The first step to increasing your site’s visibility on Google is learning how our robots crawl and index your site.

  • Crawl info: You can make sure that Google have access your site, and see when Googlebot last visited. You can also view URLs that we’ve had trouble crawling and why we couldn’t crawl them. This way, you can fix any problems preventing us from indexing all of your pages.
  • Robots.txt file validation: See if we’re having trouble with your file, and test out changes to that file before you change it on your server. You can input your robots.txt and it will give you reply if it is ok or not.
  • Website content: View top content from your site and see the words that other sites use to link to your site.

Seeing how your site performs
A second step is learning what drives traffic to your site.

  • Top queries: Find the top queries that drive traffic to your site and where your site is included in the top search results. This will let you learn how users are finding your site. ( With this report you could always use a redirect method in order to have a continues crawl at your site. You have to remember that crawler stops if it encounter Error 404. And therefore it is not healthy for your blog. )
  • Indexing information: See how your site is indexed and which of your pages are included in the index. If we find violations in your site, we’ll give you the opportunity to fix the problems and request re-inclusion of your site.

One of the useful tool of Google Webmaster Tools is telling you the numbers of site being indexed by Google vs the number of links that your sitemap is reporting. So this can give you an idea on how you can improve your site navigation.

Normally a crawler will stop as long as there are any broken links that is it being encountered. So why would you let the crawl stop ? You have to redirect it.

Knowing how your site perform behind the scene will help you focus in areas where you need to increase your SEO Experiment. I hope that this SEO tip will be of help to you.

I might have another post regarding this tools my experience and tips. I can only blog for my experience and not how the system work like what Matt Cutts is doing. But I do believe that it can help for future SEO player. I am not an expert but I am willing to do experiments and share result. and By the way I am also earning from those experiment.

SEO Tips : Changing Category, Tags and Search Pages

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

I have some changes in my site. The changes is made at Search Results and Category Pages and Tag Pages. The category pages will now only show the title of the pages and not the content. In order to check for the content you can always pick the title and it will proceed to the the post page.

This is another experiment in this blog. I know that by doing this I can direct the Search Engine Crawler directly to the post and not only part of the post. There is also a possibility of having an increase of post page views that will also increase of possibility of having Targeted Visitors. It will also prevent the issue of duplicate content since it will not show any content in Category Pages , Search Pages and Tag Pages.

I have also modified my robot.txt during implementation of this experiment and remove restriction in my Category pages and tag Pages. [ Disallow: /category/ & Disallow: /tag/ ].

I have strong feelings that this will succeed. It will increase an index page of my site without having problem with duplicate content. This will have a good effect on my SEO Campaign for this blog.

I hope this will result better navigation of my site.

WordPress Tips : How to Tweak Category Pages

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Tips is for WordPress User :

Ok it seems that my topic for the week involves designing a blog , I would like to discuss today tips where you can design your blog, This will involve WordPress Tweaking and making your new blog and design . I will also mix Design Tips with an SEO tips so that those pages will be optimized.

You can check your web design if it is compliant to a well know web design standard by checking some design issues that was shown in w3.org.

Designing Your Category Pages

We know that a Category Page produces a duplicate content within our Website. And we also knew that duplicate content is not healthy in our blog. So by knowing this basic SEO idea we can design our category page in a way that We can show to our visitors our category pages in a manner that it can easily be navigated and at the same time Search Engine Crawler Friendly.

So the best way to do this is to change the way our category page shown to visitors and Search Engine crawlers. I would like to teach on how I made my category pages which only shows the Permalink of the post including the the other category where the post belong. I have leave that dates so that my readers will know when I made the post. Although in the Post Pages I have decided to remove those dates since I believe that most of my page is Time Less. ( ehem )

WordPress Codes

Below are the previous codes of my category php

<h1><a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”bookmark”><?php the_title(); ?></a></h1>
<div class=”date”>
<?php the_time(’F j, Y’); ?> &middot; Filed Under <?php the_category(’, ‘) ?> &middot; <?php comments_popup_link(’Comment’, ‘1 Comment’, ‘% Comments’); ?>&nbsp;<?php edit_post_link(’(Edit)’, ”, ”); ?>
</div>

Here is my new codes

<h2><a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”follow”><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>
<div class=”date”>
<?php the_time(’F j, Y’); ?> | <?php the_category(’, ‘) ?> | <?php edit_post_link(’(Edit)’, ”, ”); ?>
</div>

You may copy my new codes if you want to copy my new category Pages Design. I am experimenting on the H Tags that is why I have replaced it with H2 rather that H1. Since I would like to optimized the category page name as H1. If this will not succeed I will replace them again with h1. I have also change rel tag from bookmark to follow . I am just testing it.

Hope you like this tips.

Deep Linking for SEO

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Deep Linking - Deep linking is the act of placing a hyperlink on a Web page that points to a specific page within another website, as opposed to linking direct to the main or home page.

Eg: If you link this article to any of your site web page, that would be considered as a deep link for this website.

Pushing and mixing in your deep links at the beginning of an page/article better assures that Google will accurately index these pages too. It’s not only a good idea to achieve a good PageRank on your home page, but it is also important to increase your back links to deep linked pages. You must anchor a relevant external deep linked page to your page, and secondly you must reference or link to other relevant pages within your own site for total Google SEO.

SEO with WordPress for beginners !

PageRank isn’t everything

PageRank is nice, it’s a good guide to how important Google thinks your blog is, but it’s not everything. Your goal should be to make the first page for terms that people are likely to use when searching for the topic your blog covers. Easier said than done. John Chow is actually doing an interesting experiment with the term “make money online” right now.

Make sure your <title> tags make sense

If every single page on your site has the same title then you’re making a huge mistake. Seriously. Huge. Chris Pearson wrote a great article that explains how to use WordPress code to make your titles change dynamically depending on which page your on. This will help tremendously with indexing and also getting people to actually click through to your site when it shows up in the search results.

The only thing you have to do next is learn to write great headlines.

Make sense of your permalinks

This is another really, really easy tip to follow through on. When you first install WordPress your URLs will probably look something like “http://www.domain.com/page/?id=6? or something along those lines. It’s useless. What does a page ID of 6 mean to you, your visitor, or a search engine? It means it’s the 6th post or page you added to the site. Great.

Why not edit your permalink structure so that it looks like “http://www.domain.com/03/2007/the-title”? This means a lot more. It means the post was written in March of 2007 and even tells me what the title is. This is - quite literally - a piece of cake. Login to WordPress, go to Options, and select the Permalinks tab. If you don’t feel comfortable customizing it, WordPress has a few great options and all you have to do is click the box you like.

Narrow down your topic

This is important for a number of reasons, but it also makes sense in relation to SEO. If you’re hoping to rank high for a term in Google, MSN, Yahoo, or any other search engine (are there any others?) it makes sense to have more than one page about that topic. What better way to create hundreds, even thousands of pages about a topic than to write a blog about it?

Each article in WordPress is considered another page by Google. Simply write about your topic and eventually Google will have all your posts indexed. When someone is searching for anything related to your topic, your blog has a better chance at coming to the top because of the number of posts you have about the topic.
